What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Do you have any traditions? Go in to detail about your plans for the 5 day weekend.

One of our traditions we have in our family is having my moms side come over for dinner and then my sister Kristen and I go to our dads for Thanksgiving lunch with my dads side of the family. I really am not a huge fan of turkey but I do like to eat ham. I enjoy getting together with my family. It's a lot of fun seeing all of them. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it makes me think about all the things I am thankful for in my life. (a lot) I wished that I was more thankful at times but I am glad we have this holiday as a reminder.

A resume is a way to show all of your skills, accomplishments, or experiences to give to a potential employer to explain what type of person you are. It also includes basic things such as name or contacts information. Also, a resume website should include things such as your extracurricular activities whether they are at school or not as well as your previous or ongoing education. When creating a resume website make sure to keep your information professional and dis-include any extra information such as your pets.

I have learned a lot this semester so far in this class. I have learned how much there is to making a website. There is so much coding and different things you have to do to get things the exact way you want them to look. I have also learned it's pretty tricky because if you mess one thing up, than the whole thing can potentially be messed up. I have gained problem skills which is good and I'm excited to see what more there is to learn.

This weekend, I attended a Halloween party where I dressed up as a minion from Despicable Me. It was a lot of fun! Saturday, I watched some Gossip Girl and then went out to dinner for my friends dads birthday. On Sunday, I watched the Chiefs game with my family and studied for my anatomy test I had today! What a great weekend I had.

This weekend I went to dinner with some friends to celebrate Drew and Ashley's birthday. After we went back to Brady's house and hung-out. It was fun! Besides that, I didn't do much but I did watch a lot of Gossip Girl. That's always a good time.

I have never used Photoshop before... I'm assuming it has something to do with pictures though. SO excited to learn more about it.

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.



I totally agree with this article. I think Riley did a great job explaining that we should be able to wear what we want without getting in-trouble or told to change our clothes. We should be able to wear what we want. Why does anyone have to care what people decide to wear? It's their own body so let them do and show it however they want. The opinions of clothing being "inappropriate"  can be kept to themselves because whatever whoever wears should be up to them. It's not like no one has seen someones shoulder before.

This weekend I got to celebrate my dads birthday with him! We went out to dinner and he opened gifts. I love him lots and it was a lot of fun! I also went on a walk with my baby sister Jordan and she was able to walk the entire block by herself. (super exciting) Overall this weekend was pretty good.

Homecoming weekend was lots of fun! I went to the homecoming football game on Friday and we won against South-West so that was good! On Saturday I took the day to get ready for the dance. Pictures was a little stressful considering there was 42 people in my group but once those were done, it was so much fun! We ate dinner at Gas Light Grill and then went to the dance after. I was surprised there wasn't as many people there when we got there but we had a blast. Very fun night.

I had a great weekend. On friday I cheered at another Varsity football game. Jackson Masse broke his fibula and tibia and that was not good. I felt really bad for him. It was a rough game... but on Saturday, I helped my sister get ready for her first homecoming! She went to the Southwest homecoming. She said it was alright but she looked beautiful! I also helped another one of my friends get ready and she also looked beautiful! She said that she had a great time. On Sunday, I got my car-washed and got the new Iphone 6. I love love love it! I also babysat with my sister which was fun. I <3 the weekend.

Friday, September 19th

Now that you are several weeks in to this class and have coded one (super small) website, what do you think? What are your thoughts on web design? Is it what you thought it would be? Is it better? Worse? What's your favorite part? What's your least favorite part? Explain.

Web design is a lot harder and more time consuming then I thought it would be. Having to figure out codes is super difficult. There is so much that goes into each one just to make a small change. I don't understand why they didn't make it more simpler. My favorite part is getting done and seeing my end result but overall making websites is not my thing. I do really enjoy blogging though! Something that I have never done that I really enjoy so that is a plus from this class.

What is the importance of deadlines? How do high school deadlines reflect or simulate "real world" experience? Give an example of when you met or or didn't meet a deadline that was important.

The importance of deadlines is that they're there for a reason. No one just makes a deadline just because they can. A reason (for example) is if someone ordered shirts for an event and they weren't done in time, then the person who ordered it wouldn't have it for that event. There are so many examples I could name to show the importance of a deadline. An example that I did not meet a deadline was when I didn't finish a review packet for a class. Since I was not able to meet the deadline, I was unable to take the test if I didn't do well. It makes sense considering if I do the review packet, then I should be ready for the test.

This weekend I cheered and performed on Friday at the half-time of our first home game! We played BVW and won 30-13. Our half-time performance was with our band to the song "Spider Man". I had a lot of fun being able to perform and cheer on our football boys. On Saturday, I went to the circus with my family. That was pretty cool watching all the animals and people do their tricks. Sunday, I chilled with my little sister and some kids I babysit. I also got my nails done! Great

I would have to agree with this quote. In school this seems to happen a lot. For example, if I don't do my homework I am failing to prepare for a test. So since I'm failing to prepare for the test, I am preparing myself to fail for when the test does come.

I really like this quote. I agree with it. I get really annoyed when people tell me they're bored... you can always do something about it! There are many things to do in the world so people need to learn to stop being lazy and do something so they aren't bored.

Oh wow... how do I express my creativity? I express it in different ways! One way is by painting and doing different different crafts. :) I like to do different projects and paint different things for myself but especially others. I'm not amazing at it but it's still fun. This weekend was full of football for me! On Friday, I cheered at the first BV football game!! It was a lot of fun. We won 29-0 against SMNW. The energy of the fans was amazing and the football players played great. On Saturday, I went worked at BV Rec (I'm a gymnastics coach there) then went to a friends birthday party after. Good day, good day. On Sunday, I went to the Chiefs game with my family and Derek. I had fun at that game too even though they didn't win. I hope they starting winning and have a better season! Overall, great weekend.

Friday, September 5th

Kids these days are SO annoying. They don't even know how to communicate with those gadgets things they have. They don't know how to hangout and have fun with their friends without feeling like they're missing out on something. Why can't they just be okay with who they're with!? When I was younger all we needed was a few friends and the good outdoors to go on adventures and have fun. I survived without gadgets, kids these days should be able to, too.

Tell me about what you have learned in this class so far. Have you learned a lot? Do you want to learn more? What do you want to be able to do by the end of the semester?

I have learned that there is a lot more to designing a website than I thought there was. There is a lot of codes you have to know how to do and if you mess up on one character, it can mess up everything else. I have learned a lot and not sure how much more I can learn; I'm sure it's a lot. By the end of the semester I would like to be able to make a website on my own comfortably.

This Labor Day weekend, I did lots of fun things! On Friday, I cheered at the Varsity soccer game. We found out we won the ALS Challenge against West which was exciting and got ice-cream. On Saturday, I did some shopping at Town Center and hung-out with friends later that night. Sunday, I went to dinner with my family for my Grandma's birthday and watched a movie with the family. My last day of the weekend I was stuck doing homework. :P Overall it was a great weekend!

I agree and I disagree with this newspaper clipping. I agree that we are important and needed. I also agree that we shouldn't sit around waiting for someone to do something; that we need to do something someday. We should live our lives as kids/teens having fun. It is harsh and I disagree that we shouldn't have fun. I think we need to not have stress sometimes and just have fun.

I believe that images on the internet are 'free game'. I believe this because they obviously know that the image is being showed to anyone and everyone. Therefore, the image should be able to be used be anyone since the person who posted it knew that anyone would see it. I wouldn't care if someone took my image. If someone would have an issue of someone using their image, they shouldn't post it.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? My life in BVHS... hmm well to start off I am a cheerleader here. I really enjoy being able to go to all the different events and support our school. I am a junior which means that I am already half way done with high-school! My favorite class (besides webdesign lol) is probably Anatomy. I really enjoy the things taught in that class. It's very interesting to me. This year I am looking forward to all the games and events that happen through-out the year. I am hoping we go to state in at least one sport or activity.

What do you know about Web Design right now? What did you know about Web Design before you walked in to this class? Tell me as much as you can about how web pages work. Try to use an example if possible.

I have learned a lot in Web Design so far. I have learned about the codes that are used to make websites. These codes are a lot more complicating than I thought they would be. Codecademy has helped me learn these in a pretty straight-forward simple way. We are also starting to use Blogger which I think is pretty neat and fun. I honestly did not know much about Web Design before I walked into this class.
